House of Talent students Kennedy Ray and Kate Lenz will perform in New Day Theatre's production of "Dear Edwina" March 12-14

 

House of Talent student Kate Lenz will perform in Houston Middle School's production of "School House Rock Live Jr." May 6-9.

 

House of Talent student Madison Alexander will perform in Desoto Family Theatre's production of "Les Miserables" April 16-25.

 

House of Talent students Sydney Bell and Jack Gallop will perform in Playhouse on the Square's production of "Oliver!" May 14-June 6.

 

House of Talent instructor Noelia Jones will perform in Playhouse on the Square's production of "Hairspray" June 25-July 18.

 

House of Talent student Alison Shames successfully auditioned for the Boston Ballet School's Summer Conservatory!!!

Congratulations Alison - this is a wonderful accomplishment.  Also, congratulations are due to our wonderful ballet instructors. Thanks to them, we are producing the best ballet students in Memphis.  We are very proud of all of our students.

 

House of Talent student Anna Claire Sneed lands leading role in feature film! 

Congratulations to Anna Claire Sneed for her lead role in the feature movie "A Fine Step", which is currently filming in Memphis.  Anna Claire will perform with Oscar winning actor Ernest Borgnine, Luke Perry, and Armand Assante, among other prominent actors.  This is a HUGE deal - way to go Anna Claire!  We can't wait to see you on the big screen.  By the way, can I have your autograph?

 

Sara Reimold was awarded a scholarship to attend the Kirov Academy of Ballet in the fall of 2010.

Congratulations Sara.  A successful audition at the Kirov is quite an honor.

 

"Holiday of Sweets" a success!   Thanks to all of you who attended House of Talent's 2009 holiday program on December 12.  A packed house enjoyed a wide variety of talent, which culminated with a beautiful "Nutcracker" performance.  Congratulations and a big thank you to all of our students and their parents for an amazing performance!  For a look at photos from this event, please visit the "HOT PHOTOS" link on our home page.

 

House of Talent instructor Kendall Britt, Jr. was named one of the top 20 artists in the City of Memphis by "Memphis Crossroads" magazine. We are proud to have such an amazing teacher on our staff!

 

House of Talent instructor Allison Andrews was one of the top 20 finalists at the 2009 Mid South Fair Youth Talent Competition with her dance solo. Allison was also named one of Company Dance's “Hall of Fame" Dancers. This past weekend, Allison won a one year dance scholarship to “Monsters of Hip Hop”, and is a nominee for Monsters of Hip Hop's biggest award, which would lead to her performing in LA this summer.

 

Mid South Fair Senior Youth Talent Competition

Congratulations to all HOT students who participated in the 2009 Mid South Fair Senior Youth Talent Competition.  We were well represented by Allison Andrews, Ashlyn Temple, and Heather Holliday.   Big-time props go out to Heather Holliday, who took home the First Sweepstakes Award along with a cash prize of $1,500.00!!!  Heather is under the vocal direction of Ken Taylor, as are our two Junior Fair Finalists (Sydney Bell and Madison Alexander).  See you again in 2010.

 

Mid South Fair Junior Youth Talent Competition

Congratulations to all HOT students who participated in the 2009 Mid South Fair Junior Youth Talent Competition.  Katie Sneed performed a dance solo, Sydney Bell sang a vocal solo, and Madison Alexander sang a vocal solo.  Thanks girls for your great performances!

Broadway Boot Camp and Film and Video Audition Workshops with Award Winning Casting Director, Jen Rudin - March 1 & 2   House of Talent is proud to sponsor four workshops with Jen Rudin, former Director of Casting and Talent Development for Disney Theatrical Productions and Director of Casting for Walt Disney Animation Studios. Jen, whose numerous feature film credits include The Princess and the Frog, the Incredibles, Brother Bear, and Chicken Little, has worked extensively with children and teens in films, theater and television. Jen brings her award winning expertise to Memphis in two distinct workshops for two different age groups.  Each workshop is $125 and there is a free parent and child session for all workshop participants on Wednesday, March 3 from 4-6 p.m.  Workshops will be held at Temple Israel in East Memphis at 1376 East Massey.  Private sessions are also available for a fee – for more information contact Barb Gelb at (901) 496-2959 or email barbgelb@gmail.com.
